Real-Time AI Fraud Prevention With A Dedicated Customer Success Team, Though Response Times Are Not Published

Sift is a fraud prevention platform that uses machine learning to separate legitimate customers from fraudsters in real time. US digital businesses use it for payment fraud, account takeover and account abuse, with Payment Protection, Account Defense, a Score API and chargeback Dispute Management. Pricing is quote-based. Sift’s managed services page says the Standard Support Package includes a dedicated Customer Success Manager, an Integration Consultant, a Solutions Engineer and access to Trust and Safety Architects, and G2 lists Quality of Support at 9.0 out of 10 on a comparison page. The trade-offs are that Sift publishes no support SLAs or response times, that Gartner and TrustRadius scores are lower than G2, and that one Gartner reviewer called initial setup help difficult. This page weighs the evidence and compares Sift with Feedzai and Riskified.

WHO

Who Is Sift Best For?

Ideal customer segments and business profiles

Small Businesses

1-25 Employees

Sift is sales-led with no published entry price, so it can be heavy for a very small shop. A Capterra owner reviewer praised getting support when needed, and the Standard package lists a dedicated CSM.

Mid-Market Companies

26-100 Employees

A fit for growing marketplaces and e-commerce brands that lack a fraud analyst. Managed services can stand in for an in-house team, per Sift. Confirm event volume pricing before signing.

Enterprise Companies

100+ Employees

Large platforms get the network data, Premier and Premium managed tiers, and SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. Indeed’s engineering manager gave it 10 out of 10 on TrustRadius for finding duplicate accounts.

Marketplaces And Digital Platforms Fighting Account Abuse

Any Size

Businesses with fake accounts, promo abuse or account takeover alongside payment fraud benefit from one platform for both. Patreon, Poshmark and Turo appear on Sift’s site.

Sift BENEFITS

Sift’s Pros & Cons

Balanced evaluation to help you make an informed decision

Strengths

  • G2 Quality of Support of 9.0 out of 10, with 4.6 overall across 615 reviews
  • Standard Support Package lists a dedicated Customer Success Manager, Integration Consultant and Solutions Engineer
  • Managed services in Standard, Premier and Premium tiers, with fraud experts running operations, per Sift
  • Access to Trust and Safety Architects, a Customer Community and a Trust Academy certification
  • SOC 2 Type II report each year and ISO 27001 certification, as stated by Sift
  • Payment fraud, account takeover and account abuse covered in one platform, plus Dispute Management
  • Public status page, developer hub and support portal for existing customers

Limitations

  • No published support SLAs, response times, support hours or channel list on the pages we read
  • Platform and managed services prices are quote-only, with no tier-to-feature mapping published
  • Gartner shows 3.9 overall and TrustRadius 5.5 out of 10, both on small samples
  • A Gartner reviewer found it difficult to get help with initial setup
  • G2 reviewers report an average of about 2 months to implement
  • Sift’s own site does not state its headquarters, headcount or total funding

Our Verdict

Sift earns its Best in Support placement on the shape of its service rather than on published commitments. Its managed services page lists a dedicated Customer Success Manager, Integration Consultant and Solutions Engineer in the Standard package, plus Trust and Safety Architects, a customer community, and Premier and Premium managed tiers where Sift’s fraud experts tune models and workflows. G2 lists Quality of Support at 9.0 out of 10, Capterra reviewers praise quick answers, and a restaurant chain cut chargebacks from 8% to 0.07% with managed services, per Sift. The evidence has gaps. Sift publishes no SLAs, response times or support hours, Gartner shows 3.9 overall and TrustRadius 5.5 out of 10 on small samples, and one Gartner reviewer found initial setup help difficult. The 9.0 support score came from a G2 comparison page that we could not see on the product page itself. Buyers should get tier contents, response targets and CSM coverage written into the contract, and ask what the managed services tiers cost.

What to Know

What to Know Before Buying

Key considerations for evaluating Sift
  • The Standard package lists an Integration Consultant and Solutions Engineer
  • Models need event history and labeled outcomes to improve
  • One Gartner reviewer called initial setup help difficult
  • Sift offers REST APIs, JavaScript snippets and iOS and Android SDKs, and its Dispute Management product lists payment system integrations. Confirm your payment processor, platform and order flow.
  • Sift says it processes over 1 trillion events a year across its network. Pricing is quote-based, so model costs against your own event volume and growth before signing.
  • Managed services, Expert Services and Dispute Management sit on top of the platform. The AWS listing notes added AWS costs and that unit growth needs a vendor conversation. Ask what is included in the Standard package.
  • Moving from another vendor means re-sending events, rebuilding rules and workflows, and letting models learn from your data. Plan a period of parallel running to compare decisions.
  • The AWS listing shows a 12 month term with non-refundable fees unless Sift’s terms say otherwise. Confirm support tier, response targets, CSM coverage and renewal terms in writing.

Feedzai’s site presents a RiskOps platform with fraud, identity and AML products and a Farol agentic AI assistant, aimed at financial institutions. Sift is focused on online commerce and platforms and describes a Customer Success Manager in its Standard package.

Riskified’s site lists Adaptive Checkout, Chargeback Guarantee, Policy Protect, Dispute Resolve and Account Secure, a help center, and a three-step onboarding with fraud experts. It does not disclose pricing there. Its CEO bio cites an NYSE listing under RSKD. Sift offers no chargeback guarantee on the pages we read but lists managed services.
